Studies at the Takasago Corporation in Japan looked to discover the link between our olfactory senses and focus. The theory was that within a scented environment employees can be more stimulated with improved focus that in turn decrease errors and increases concentration.
The researches discovered that employees in a scented environment made 54% made fewer errors when they could smell lemon, 33% fewer with jasmine and 20% fewer with lavender. This was because their cognitive functions were further improved through olfactory stimuli.
